Due Diligence

Is This Your Dreamboat?

More often than not, we will be considering boats in other areas and listed by other brokers. Through our professional relationship with the Yacht Brokers Association of America, we begin our due diligence efforts to learn more about our prospective purchase. Typically this will include:

– Preparing Co-Brokerage Agreements with Listing Brokers as appropriate
– Arranging showings
– Receiving our proprietary Vessel History Disclosure form to get a detailed history of the vessel
– Where the showing requires long distance and overnight travel, we begin with sales price negotiations, and make a Purchase and Sale Agreement subject to a successful visit and marine survey. It would be a waste of resources to travel to, and accept a boat, only to fail to reach a negotiated fair selling price with the seller.
